# Current Status of U.S. Visa Services By Country - April 2026 Find the latest updates on visa appointment availability and processing times at U.S. embassies and consulates worldwide. ## Important Policy Change Affecting Many Countries **New U.S. Presidential Proclamation (effective January 1, 2026)** A nationwide suspension of visa issuance for certain countries took effect on January 1, 2026. As a result, nationals of some countries listed below may now face a full or partial suspension of new visa issuance, including both immigrant and nonimmigrant visas, under the new policy. ### Countries Affected **Full suspension (both immigrant and nonimmigrant visas):** - Afghanistan - Eritrea - Haiti - Iran - Libya - Niger - Somalia - South Sudan - Sudan - Syria - Yemen **Partial suspension (certain visa categories affected):** - Cuba - Nigeria - Venezuela - Zimbabwe This policy **does not revoke visas that were issued before January 1, 2026**.
